Aaron Lutzker - Men's Swimming and Diving

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior Aaron Lutzker continued to rack up the individual wins in his final collegiate season, winning two events to help the CMS men's swimming and diving team to a clean sweep of Whittier in a SCIAC dual win on Saturday.

When he was last in SCIAC competition before this weekend, Lutzker set an Axelrood Pool record in the 200-yard breaststroke in a dual meet with Pomona-Pitzer to take first place. This weekend Whittier, he didn't compete in the breaststroke, instead entering the 100-yard backstroke and the 100-yard butterfly, winning both. He took first place in the 100-yard butterfly by almost a full second (51.91) and captured the 100-yard backstroke by more than a second (54.04), surpassing his season-best time in the process.

Lutzker earned two top-three finishes at the SCIAC Championships last year, coming in second in the 200 breast and third in the 400 IM, after winning the 200 IM at the 2017 SCIACs as a sophomore. This season, he has shown his versatility in multiple events, capturing the 200 breast in a competitive tri-meet with top 10 opponents Chicago and WashU, coming in second in the 1650 against Chapman, and capturing the 100 fly in a tri-meet with Occidental and Caltech.

CMS will be back in action this weekend when it travels to Redlands for another SCIAC dual meet. The swimming and diving teams will next be at home on February 2 for a tri-meet with Cal Lutheran and La Verne.
