Margaux Arntson - Women's Volleyball

Over the weekend, Margaux Arntson (CMC) helped the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team to their first NCAA National Championship with a 3-0 victory over the Wittenberg Tigers in the National Championship. Arntson was named the Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after putting on a show with 18 kills and an astounding .519 hitting percentage in the National Championship match.

Playing against some of the best teams in the country, Arntson complied 92 kills and a .388 hitting percentage across six NCAA Tournament matches. Arntson had at least 13 kills in every match in the NCAA tournament. She also registered five matches with at least a .320 hitting percentage. On the season, Arntson scooped up all sorts of Awards. She was named First Team All-SCIAC, SCIAC Athlete of the Year, First Team All-Region, West Region Player of the Year, First Team All-American, and NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. She finished the season with 358 kills, 3.25 kills per set, and a .340 hitting percentage.

Arntson, along with seven other seniors, caps off her career with CMS’ first-ever NCAA National Championship for a women’s sport in the department’s history.
