Bryn McKillop - Women's Cross Country

Over the weekend, Bryn McKillop (SC) helped lead the No. 5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team to their eighth-straight SCIAC Championship by winning the Individual title at the Conference Championship with a time of 22:36.55. The individual title for McKillop was the first for the CMS women since the 2003 season.
In the race, McKillop led the 122-runner field by finishing a little over four seconds ahead of the closest competitor. The victory for McKillop continues a tremendous season for the senior. McKillop now has six victories this season and was the top NCAA Division III runner in the only other race she competed in.

McKillop and the Athenas will take a week off from competition before running the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Pomona-Pitzer.

From Coach Goldhammer:

“Bryn has been a valuable part of the CMS Cross Country program each of her four years here, she has continued to both work hard and improve each year.  The CMS program is focused on team results not individual accolades but by winning the SCIAC Championship this past Saturday Bryn was the first CMS women to win the race since 2003 when Angie Jaquez won her second championship as a senior.  Bryn has placed in the top 20 all four years, the last two finishing third and of course first this year. She is a two-time All-West Regional First Team athlete, and has run on Three CMS NCAA teams.  Around campus she is involved with the orchestra as well as the math club at Scripps.”
