Claire Bacon Brenes - Women's Swimming and Diving
Claire Bacon-Brenes (SC) set two new Axelrod Pool records in Saturday’s big win over Division I Loyola Marymount. Bacon-Brenes broke both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke records en route to the 189-73 victory.
The sophomore finished the 100 Breast with a time of 1:04.85 to win the event by over four seconds, breaking own pool record of 1:05.21, set last February. Her time in the 200 Breast (2:21.01) broke the record set by Annie Perizzolo, the 2010 National Champion in the event, in January of 2008.
Bacon-Brenes and the Athenas are back in the pool on Feb. 3 when they travel to Chapman at 10 a.m.
