Kendrick Morris - Men's Basketball

CLAREMONT, Calif. –After scoring a career-high 25 points against Whittier to lead CMS to its first conference win on Friday night, Morris is named CMS Athlete of the Week. The junior big man flashed some brilliant touch around the basket, making 12 out of his 14 attempts, and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Poets had trouble containing Morris in the post, as the Stags continuously fed the junior in the paint to convert several layups. Trailing 5-0, Morris scored six straight points to spark a 12-2 run to put CMS during the first half. With 4:15 left in the same half, Morris singlehandedly traded baskets with the Poets, scoring four straight baskets to put CMS ahead 39-32 at halftime. The center continued his hot form in the second half, scoring four points in the first two minutes to keep CMS up front.

The junior is currently averaging 13.2 points per game and leads the team in rebounding with 6.8 rebounds per game.
