Chase Eller - Baseball

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Junior Chase Eller (CMC) has been named CMS Athlete of the Week after a solid showing at the plate for the Stags baseball program this past weekend. The second baseman batted .500 in the series against University of Redlands, knocking in three RBIs and scoring two runs. Eller has done everything the Stags needed from their no. 2 hitter, advancing runners and making timely hits to spark a rally.

Eller’s standout moment came on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the series. With the Stags trailing 14-6, Eller led the comeback with an RBI single in the eighth inning. CMS built on the momentum and added six more runs while loading the bases, setting Eller up for a chance to tie the game. The junior did just that, hitting an RBI single through the infield gap to bring in two runners to even the score 14 apiece. The Stags added four more runs in the ninth inning to win the game.

Eller currently leads the team in all offensive categories with a .340 batting average, 20 RBIs, and 17 runs. He also has two homeruns this season.
