Kailee Severt – Women’s Basketball
(2/22 – 2/28) – In SCIAC Postseason Tournament play, the Athenas dominated the competition en route to the tournament championship and Severt stepped up for the Athenas during the week. The Athenas’ leading scorer during the season averaged 12.5 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 3.5 rebounds in the two games last week. Her best game of the week came in the 75-48 win over Cal Lutheran (Feb. 27) in the SCIAC Tournament finals. She scored a game-high 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting with five rebounds in 33 minutes of work against Cal Lu. This season, CMS claimed the program’s third-straight SCIAC regular season and tournament championship. By virtue of winning the SCIAC Tournament, CMS received the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship tournament. CMS faces Trinity (Texas) on Friday, March 4 at 3 p.m. PST in Tyler, Texas.
On March 1, Severt was named SCIAC Co-Female Athlete of the Week.
