Carley Roberts – Softball

(5/2 – 5-8) – The senior catcher from Yorba Linda, Carlene Roberts (CMC), hit three home runs in the first day of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament and finished the weekend hitting .667, slugging an outrageous 2.167 and recording a team-leading six RBI. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas won the program’s fourth SCIAC Tournament title beating Redlands 9-1 (5 inn.) and La Verne 10-1 (5 inn.) on Friday and then taking SCIAC regular season champs, La Verne, again in the championship game, 4-2.

With the automatic qualification, CMS advanced to the NCAA Regionals and faces George Fox on Friday, May 13 at 3:30 p.m. at the Spokane Regional hosted by Whitworth.
