Cam Van – Men’s Track & Field

(4/25 – 5/1) – The Claremont McKenna College junior came up big over the weekend as the Stags won the SCIAC Championships for the fourth season in a row. Over the two days, Van swept the three jumps events: high jump (2.02m - 6-07.50), long jump (7.01m - 23-00.00) and triple jump (14.53m - 47-08.00). He won the long jump on Friday and concluded the Championships with wins in the high jump and triple jump. In the triple jump near the end of the meet, Van came back from sixth place and won the event on his final jump. His marks in the triple jump currently rank eighth in Division III and he ranks first in the conference in all three events. All three marks landed him on the CMS top-10 list. Next on the schedule is the Claremont Classic (May 5-6), Occidental Invite (May 7) and Redlands Final Qualifier (May 18-19) before the NCAA Division III Championships (May 26-28) in Waverly, Iowa.

On May 3 he was selected as the SCIAC's Male Athlete of the Week.
