Alex Wrenn – Men’s Golf

(5/9 – 5/15) – Freshman men’s golfer Alex Wrenn (CMC) jumped up three spots, helped by birdies on the final three holes in the final round of the NCAA Division III Championships in Rochester, N.Y., to tie for first place and force a playoff to decide the individual national champion. He ended up in a tie for second place overall after the playoff and was the top finisher for the Stags. He had rounds of 70, 76, 75 and 74 during the week. His team went wire-to-wire leading the tournament for the first-ever national championship for the CMS men’s golf program. After the first day of the Championships, the Stags led the field by 11 strokes and ultimately won by six strokes over a very competitive field.
