Jonathan Shaw – Men’s Golf
(2/1 – 2/7) – Sophomore Jonathan Shaw (CMC) won the SCIAC #1 Tournament on Feb. 6-7 at the Tukwet Canyon Champions Course and helped CMS to a first place team finish at the event as well. Shaw led the charge for the Stags. He finished as the individual medalist at 4-over par (148) in the two-round event, six shots ahead of the next closest competitor. Shaw posted a 76 in the first round and then closed the tournament with an even-par, 72 to overtake a golfer from Chapman who led after the first round. It is the first time that Shaw has finished as the individual medalist at a SCIAC event. His previous-best finish had been fourth place at the SCIAC #2 event last season. The Stags head up to the Bay Area for the East/West Bay Area Invitational for their next tournament, Feb. 14-16 at Wente Vineyards Golf Club in Livermore, Calif.
