Crystal Anderson - Volleyball
(11/2 – 11/8) – The CMC sophomore outside hitter from Sammamish, Wash. came through in a big way over the weekend for the SCIAC champion volleyball team, as CMS won its first-ever SCIAC Postseason Tournament. CMS swept its way through the tournament, defeating La Verne (3-0) in the semifinals on Nov. 5 and Cal Lutheran (3-0) on Nov. 7 in the championship match. In the two matches, Anderson tallied 25 kills (several of which came in crucial moments), five digs and two blocks with an attack percentage of .375. Against La Verne, she finished with 13 kills and an attack percentage of .440. Two days later against Cal Lu, she had 12 kills and five digs. Anderson and the Athenas face Southwestern (Tex.) on Nov. 13 at 12:30 p.m. PST in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
