James Stevick – Men’s Swim & Dive
(1/26 – 2/1) – In a day that saw CMS set four pool
records at Redlands, senior diver James Stevick
(CMC) continued his record-board onslaught by obliterating both the
1-meter and 3-meter board pool records. Stevick's 3-meter score of
375.20 bested the old record by 20 points, while his 1-meter mark
of 384.45 was over 50 points better than the previous standard.
The Stags defeated the Bulldogs 172.5 to 67.5 in the meet to
remain unbeaten in SCIAC competition at 7-0, setting up a crucial
showdown with Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 7 at Axelrood Pool on Senior
Day. The meet against Pomona-Pitzer also happens to be the last
meet before the SCIAC Championships which begin on Feb. 19.
On Feb. 3 Stevick was also named SCIAC Male Athlete of the Week.
