Anna Gurr – Softball

(4/13 – 4/19) – Anna Gurr has led the Athena softball team from the circle all season and earned a win and a save this weekend in big games against Pomona-Pitzer, 2-1 & 2-0. Gurr pitched game one and earned her 10th win on the season, eighth in SCIAC. In seven innings pitched she struck out two and gave up no walks. The only run allowed in the 2-1 walk-off victory was unearned. In game two, Gurr came in to get the Athenas out of a jam in the fifth inning with the bases loaded. She forced a strikeout to end the inning and then pitched two additional innings without giving up a hit and striking out three overall. Gurr's ERA sits at 2.25 on the season overall and 1.89 in SCIAC. CMS sits in second in the SCIAC standings with four games remaining on the schedule.
