Warren Wood – Men’s Tennis

(3/30 – 4/5) – The No. 1-ranked men’s tennis team went 4-0 during the week with wins over No. 14 Williams (8-1), No. 17 Redlands (8-1), No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus (9-0) and NAIA No. 4 Westmont (9-0) and senior captain Warren Wood (CMC) led the way for CMS with an 8-0 record (4-0 singles and 4-0 doubles). In singles, Wood went 4-0 in the top position for CMS, with three wins against ranked opponents. Wood, the 12th-ranked singles player in D-III, defeated No. 18 Patrick Lipscomb (6-4, 6-3) from Redlands, No. 21 Mohanad Al Houni (3-6, 6-3, 6-1) from Gustavus Adolphus and NAIA No. 25 Carl-Phillip Lindqvist (6-1, 6-2) from Westmont. Against Williams in singles, Wood trailed in the first set but came back to win in two sets, 7-5, 6-1. In doubles, Wood also went 4-0. He partnered with Joe Dorn for three wins in No. 1 doubles and then teamed up with Nikolas Marino for the fourth win.
