Sara Mostatabi and Zorg Loustalet – Cross Country

(10/13 – 10/19) – For just the second time in the 24-year history of the SCIAC Multi-Dual Cross Country Meet, CMS had the individual winners of both the men’s and women’s races which were held on Oct. 17 at La Mirada Park.

Senior Sara Mostatabi won the women's race while junior Zorg Loustalet won the men's race for the second year in a row. Mostatabi led the entire race and pulled away over the last mile to win by five seconds in 21:44.1 to lead the Athenas to a first place finish. Loustalet also led the entire race and cruised to a seven second win in a time of 25:29.3. The Stags finished in second place overall.

On Wednesday, both athletes were named SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the week of October 13-19.

Both teams will race again on Nov. 1 at the SCIAC Championships. The race will be at Prado Regional Park in Chino. The men will race at 9:00 a.m. with the women following at 9:45 a.m.
