Alex Chang – Football

(11/3 – 11/9) – In the CMS football team’s 40-3 win over Whittier on Nov. 8, the defense had a record day and senior defensive lineman Alex Chang (CMC) played a big role in the defensive dominance. Chang had two of the team’s six sacks and registered a safety and a forced fumble on one of the sacks. He also tied for a team-high with six tackles. On Saturday, CMS’ defense only allowed Whittier just 49 yards in 48 plays, smashing the previous CMS record. On Oct. 18, 1958, the Stags held UC Riverside to 66 total yards which was the previous record. The Stag defense dominated the Whittier run game for -16 net rushing yards. The Poets were forced to throw the ball and even then, earned only three passing first downs, totaling 65 yards for the game.
