AD Fund for Athletic Excellence

Donations to this fund support the department's greatest needs and CMS Scholar-Leader-Athletes across all sports. It also provides support and education for department-wide initiatives in four main areas: 1) leadership development, 2) diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, 3) Title IX and 4) mental health.

For donations to CMS Athletics, please click on one of the three college links directly below. To make a gift to CMS Athletics through CMC, choose "AD Fund for Athletic Excellence" from the "Designation" drop-down menu. For Harvey Mudd and Scripps, direct your gift to Athletics in the "Other Designations" category.

Support a Specific Team

A gift directly to an individual team provides that team and its coaches additional resources to play a nationally competitive schedule, purchase state of the art equipment and recruit the most talented student-athletes. By directly supporting one or more of CMS' 21 varsity teams, you are not only making a difference for that program, but you have directly impacted the overall success of CMS Athletics.

Gift-In-Kind

Gifts that consist of donated services or items that would normally be purchased by the CMS Athletic Department may be honored for tax credit. Examples of Gift-In-Kind donations include food and beverage, athletic equipment, lodging, and transportation.

Endowment

Endowments may be established with a minimum gift of $100,000, and can be established for specific teams or programs as well as for general Athletics department use. Endowments may be named to honor an individual or the donor. Endowment gifts may be made payable over a maximum five year period.

Host/Plan an Event

As CMS teams travel around the country, we would like to organize events for alumni, families, and prospective student-athletes. We are looking for alumni to help maximize these event possibilities.

Capital Projects

Top-notch facilities and training equipment are necessary to fulfill our commitment to current student-athletes to provide them with the best possible tools towards their pursuit of their athletic and academic goals, and important for recruiting the finest possible student-athletes to CMS. Capital gifts address the facility needs of the entire athletics program and allow CMS to maintain a competitive advantage.

Community Partner Sponsorships

Become an official partner of CMS Athletics featured in our visiting team guide, which is sent out to teams that come to Claremont. Opportunities are also available to partner with specific teams.

Types of Gifts

In addition to gifts of cash, check or credit card, CMS welcomes gifts of real property, planned gifts, gifts in-kind, stock, company matches and donations through a Donor Advised Fund.

For information on any of these initiatives, please contact Chris Watts (cwatts@cmc.edu), Director of Athletics Advancement.
