Goals Galore: Athenas Connect for Five Tallies in Victory

On a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team scored four second-half goals en route to a 5-1 victory over the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs. The Athenas got on the board first with a goal in the eighth minute off the foot of Sydney Smith (CMC), but Santa Cruz tied the match in the 26th minute.
USC and Pepperdine Prove Too Much for Stags

On Sunday afternoon the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s water polo team took on a pair of Division I teams in No. 2 University of Southern California and No. 8 Pepperdine University. The Trojans showed why they are one of the top teams in the country with a 20-1 victory over the Stags. CMS was able to score a goal in the third quarter, but Southern Cal went on for the comfortable victory.
Stags Prove Too Much For Pioneers in Season Opener

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team opened the 2017 season with a 37-16 victory over the Lewis and Clark Pioneers on Saturday afternoon. The Stags’ defense held the Pioneers to just two points for the first 55 minutes before Lewis and Clark pushed two late touchdowns through.
Athenas Top Banana Slugs and Pirates in Saturday Sweeps

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team continued the Cal Lu Fornia Invitaional on Saturday morning with a 3-0 (25-26, 25-20, 25-10) sweep of the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.
Athenas Hustle to First-Place Finish at Biola

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s cross country team hit the road on Saturday morning to race in the Biola Invitational. The Athenas cruised to a comfortable victory over the 11 teams in attendance. CMS finished with four of the seven fastest times including a first-place finish from Bryn McKillop (SC) in 17:48.61. McKillop was over seven seconds faster than the second place finisher in the race.
Four Stags in Top-15, Team Places Second at Biola

Racing in their second meet of the season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team took on nine other teams in the Biola Invitational. The Stags finished with a team score of 56 points and finished in second-place. The host Biola Eagles won the Invitational with a score of 33.
Late Comeback Helps Stags to First Win of 2017

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's water polo team went 1-1 in the first day of the Inland Empire Classic, earning its first win of the season in a thrilling comeback against Whittier College before falling to Cal Baptist University.
Athenas Battle, Split Pair of Matches at Cal Lu Invite

Playing in the 10th annual Cal Lu Fornia Invitational, the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team split a pair of matches. The Athenas mounted a furious comeback against Pacific Lutheran to win their first match of the day in five sets (3-2, 15-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14). In the nightcap, the Athenas fell in a squeaker to No. 10 Trinity (TX) 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 28-26, 28-26) in their second match against a top-10 opponent in as many weeks.
Stags Ready for New Season to Kick Off

On Saturday afternoon the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team will hit the field for the first time in the 2017 season when they travel to Lewis and Clark College. The season opener between the Stags and Pioneers is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. in Portland, Ore.
Second-Half Header Pushes Stags Past Leopards

After a scoreless first-half, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team scored a quick goal after the break off the head of Matthew Swift (CMC) to open SCIAC play with a 1-0 victory over La Verne. The victory gives the Stags their first victory of the season in their home opener.
