  • Athenas Squash Slugs, Win Eighth Straight

    Kate Parrish (CMC) turned in her second-straight double-double to lead the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team past the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs 64-43 on Friday evening. The Athenas took control of the contest by outscoring the Banana Slugs 17-3 in the second quarter. The impressive period helped put the Athenas up 34-16 at the break and, after a relatively even second-half, CMS earned their eighth-straight victory. The Athenas held Santa Cruz to just a 28.8 shooting percentage from the floor (15-52) and out rebounded the Banana Slugs 48-27 in the contest.
  • Athenas Battle Cal Baptist in Distance Meet

    On Friday afternoon the No. 17 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team took the pool against Division II No. 14 Cal Baptist for their first competition in over a month. The Lancers topped the Athenas 142-98 in the distance dual, but the Athenas featured strong performances in a number of events on the day. CMS won four events, highlighted by a sweep of the 100 Free. Natalia Orbach-Mandel (HMC) won the race with a time of 54.60 and four Athenas joined her to round out the top-five. Orbach-Mandel (24.67) also won the 50 Free, touching ahead of teammate Laura Dickinson (CMC). Dickinson (25.55) finished second and earned four valuable points for the Athenas.
  • Stags Open 2018 with Distance Meet at Cal Baptist

    After more than a month without competition, the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team was back in the pool on Friday afternoon taking on Division II No. 8 Cal Baptist. While the Lancers defeated the Stags 174-69, CMS had a number of strong showings on the afternoon. The Stags won a pair of events with Kendall Hollimon (CMC) taking the top spot in the three-meter diving competition. Hollimon scored a 412.42 in the event to win by 53.32 points.
  • Stags Cruise to Comfortable Victory Over Leopards

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team scored 90 points in a dominating, 90-63 victory over the La Verne Leopards on Wednesday night. Scott Lynds (CMC) went for 24 points while collecting two rebounds, three steals, and three assists in the victory. Michael Scarlett (CMC) finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Scarlett also added five dimes in 24 minutes on the floor.
  • Double Trouble: Love and Parrish Control Victory over La Verne

    Double-doubles from Kate Parrish (CMC) and Maya Love (CMC) carried the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team to their seventh-straight victory on Wednesday night with an 81-61 win at La Verne. Parrish registered her first career double-double with a career-high in both points (20) and rebounds (14) on the bench in the 20-point victory.
