Stags Notch Victory Over Sagehens In Top-Ten Showdown

This weekend the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags and No. 10 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens squared off in a two-day meet in Haldeman Pool. The Stags trailed 56-53 after Friday’s events, but a strong Saturday for CMS saw the Stags win eight events and set four pool records to defeat the Sagehens 191-161 in the top-ten dual.
No. 19 Sagehens Top No. 15 Athenas in Sixth Street Meet

This weekend the No. 15 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas made the short walk across the street and took on the No. 19 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens in a two-day meet in Haldeman Pool. The Athenas started off the meet with a strong Friday and held a 61-49 lead through six events, but the Sagehens got the better of the Athenas on Saturday and Pomona-Pitzer won the dual 192-161.
Strong Second-Half Propels Athenas Over Caltech

On Saturday evening the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team came on strong in the second-half to earn their first SCIAC victory of the season with a 75-59 win over Caltech. Kailee Severt (CMC) led the offensive effort with a game-high 25 points for the Athenas. Maya Love (CMC) scored in double-digits as well with 10 points and both Love and Severt grabbed eight rebounds each.
Lynds Drops Career-High, Stags Roll Past Fighting Falcons

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team picked up their first victory of the 2017-18 season with an 84-65 victory over California Miramar on Saturday night in Roberts Pavilion. The Stags were paced by a career-high 24 points from senior Scott Lynds (CMC). In the game, Lynds went 9-11 from the field including an impressive 5-7 mark from downtown.
Golden Eagles Edge Athenas in Non-Conference Meeting

On Wednesday night, the La Sierra Golden Eagles edged the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s basketball team 65-62. Corinne Bogle (CMC) led the Athenas with 17 points in the contest. Kailee Severt (CMC) and Maya Love (CMC) also scored in double-figure with 13 and 10 points, respectively. Love also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. The Golden Eagles were paced by Alexis Davis, who scored 18 points off the bench in a 6-12 shooting performance.
