Sports Information Director Emily Nordhoff has been a steadfast member of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps community for nine years. At the end of May, Nordhoff is leaving her post to pursue opportunities outside of Claremont.

After sweeping through the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse program (16-1) earned a Pool B berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Athenas will get a bye and then host Colorado College (14-4) in a Second Round game on May 14.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team came up short in the “if necessary” Championship Game of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament. The host, the University of La Verne, came back from a three-run deficit to win 4-3 and earn the SCIAC’s automatic qualification to the NCAA tournament.

Five members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team were named to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference’s First and Second Team as announced on May 5. Head Coach Bim Jollymour was also named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.

The No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team (28-3, 10-0) claimed their 12th consecutive outright SCIAC title with a thrilling come-from-behind 5-3 victory over No. 11 Redlands on Saturday. The win was the Stags’ 115th straight in conference play.

In a marathon match that was delayed multiple times by rain, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team emerged as the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Champions with the 5-4 win over Pomona-Pitzer. With the 2017 conference title, the Athenas earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. This marks the program’s 19th SCIAC Championship and seventh consecutive.

Saturday night turned out nothing short of spectacular for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team as the Athenas (16-1, 10-0) completed a dominant run in the SCIAC regular season and tournament undefeated after an 18-9 win over Chapman University (11-7, 7-3).

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team finds itself in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship game against La Verne for the second time in as many years. After the 10-1 victory over the Leos today, the Athenas emerged as the only undefeated team in this season’s SCIAC Tournament.

The No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team (26-3, 8-0) opened SCIAC tournament play with a 5-0 win at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center on Friday. The Stags will face fifth-seeded Cal Lutheran (7-16, 3-5) on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the semifinals.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team made quick work of Chapman University in the first round of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The No. 1 seed in the tournament faced little resistance as they cruised to the 5-0 victory on Friday afternoon.
