SCIAC Multi-Dual victory secure men and women SCIAC lead

The third SCIAC Multi-Dual proved to be the charm for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field program this past Saturday as both the men and women’s team took first place to sit on top of the SCIAC standings.

Stags get two more wins, stay atop SCIAC

April 15, 2017

The No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team swept a SCIAC Saturday doubleheader, defeating Occidental 9-0 at home, and Chapman 8-1 at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center. Freshmen Jake Berber (CMC) and Jake Williams (HMC) led CMS with three and two wins respectively on the day. The Stags move to 22-2 overall and 6-0 in SCIAC, and sole possession of first place in conference play.

Motter’s game-winning RBI earns CMS one win in series

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team had a bittersweet series this past weekend against Chapman University as the Stags (13-18, 7-11) took the opener in thrilling fashion before dropping both doubleheaders on the road to the Panthers (21-10, 12-6).

Straight set sweep for 21st win

April 15, 2017

The No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team won every game in seven of the nine matches against Occidental College on Saturday morning. The Athenas (21-0, 6-0) easily swept the Tigers (3-11, 1-5) in doubles and then earned their ninth 9-0 sweep of the season.

Battle for top spot goes to La Verne

April 15, 2017

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team went toe-to-toe with the University of La Verne in the first game of the doubleheader but then took the 12-2 loss in the nightcap. CMS (16-14, 14-6) and ULV (23-7, 16-4) took game one through eight scoreless innings before the Leos were able to scratch the game-winner in the top of the ninth.

Overwhelming scoring in first half crushes Poets

There was no stopping the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon as the Athenas (12-1, 8-0) cruised through a 20-1 victory over Whittier College to stay undefeated in SCIAC play.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s water polo team finished the regular season on a positive note, delivering an 11-7 victory at home against Caltech.

Stags get 20th win at Cal Lu, defeat Kingsman 8-1

The No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team earned its fourth conference win and 20th of the season, defeating Cal Lutheran 8-1 on Friday afternoon. CMS took two of three in doubles and then won all six singles matches in straight sets. Sophomore Julian Gordy (CMC) and freshman Nikolai Parodi (CMC) each had two victories to lead the Stags.

CMS enters multiple meets for valuable experience

Several athletes from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field programs competed in three different meets on Thursday and Friday, gaining experience from competing against top level competition.

Comeback win in sweep of Oxy

April 14, 2017

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team earned two more wins in SCIAC play due to a shutout and then a comeback on Friday afternoon. The Athenas (16-12, 14-4) earned the sweep over Occidental College (9-19, 7-11) with scores of 7-0 and then 9-5.

Doubles fire power gives CMS 5-0 win

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s tennis team made quick work of the 21st-ranked team in Division II, Azusa Pacific University. The Athenas (20-0) took a dominant 3-0 lead after the doubles and then just needed two wins in singles play to secure the 5-0 victory.

CMS' commanding offense seals Sixth Street Rivalry

The Sixth Street Rivalry ended in the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team’s favor as the Athenas (11-1, 7-0) defeated Pomona-Pitzer (5-9, 1-6) handily 18-7 on Wednesday night.

Hard-fought loss to Sagehens on Wednesday

April 12, 2017

In front of a large crowd for Pomona-Pitzer, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s water polo team suffered a tough 11-3 loss to the Sagehens on Wednesday night. The Athenas (8-11, 2-4) and Sagehens (12-18, 5-1) each played hard-nosed defense to start the game, but a handful of quick goals at the end of the first period game PP a lead they never relinquished.
