============= Fall – Women==============
Women’s Cross Country
The CMS cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division III Championships in Winneconne, Wis., over the weekend. The Athenas finished 13th overall with 419 points, and Bridget Blum (CMC ’16) earned All-America honors with her 27th-place finish. Bryn McKillop (SCR ’18) finished 83rd, followed by Caroline Willian (CMC ’17) in 138th, Jen Lehr (SCR ’17) in 153rd and sophomore Laura Broderick (SCR ’18) in 192nd. The men’s and women’s teams qualified for the National Championships for the eighth straight year and earned the second-highest combined team finish.

Men’s Cross Country
The CMS cross country teams competed in the NCAA Division III Championships in Winneconne, Wis., over the weekend. The Stags had their best showing in program history thanks to a seventh-place finish. Zorg Loustalet (HMC ’16) once again led all Stag runners and finished 29th, earning All-America honors in the process. In addition, Jack Wilson (CMC ’16) finished 67th, Evan Molineux (CMC ’16) placed 79th (25:25.5), Kyle Lund (HMC ’17) crossed 103rd (25:32.7) and sophomore Kevin Huang (HMC ’18) ended in 107th. The men’s and women’s teams qualified for the National Championships for the eighth straight year and earned the second-highest combined team finish.
Men’s Water Polo
CMS earned its 26th men’s water polo conference championship with wins at the SCIAC Championships over Occidental, Chapman and Whittier (finals). Peter Tilton (CMC ’18) scored the overtime game-winner for the Stags in the championship game against the Poets and earned the Stags an automatic bid into the National Collegiate Men’s Water Polo Championship. CMS did not lose a game to a SCIAC opponent this year, going 11-0 against the conference. The Stags remain one of only six teams left alive in country and will have an opportunity to improve on that standing Dec. 3 in the NCAA Collegiate Men’s Water Polo Championship play-in game at USC.

Women’s Basketball
The Athenas continued their winning ways in the Hunter College Tournament in New York last week with a 68-50 win over St. Joseph’s (L.I.) and a 73-35 victory over Hunter College (N.Y.). Claire Donnelly (CMC ’17) and Kailee Severt (CMC ’18) had strong performances on the East Coast, as Donnelly shot a combined 62 percent from the field with 25 points and 12 rebounds, and Severt notched 25 points, including four three-pointers. The Athenas return home Nov. 27-28 for the David Wells Classic and will play games against Willamette (Ore.) and Puget Sound (Wash.).
Women’s Swim and Dive
Another bye week gave the Stags and Athenas a chance to rest up after sweeping Chapman and Cal Lutheran on Nov. 7. Both swimming and diving teams will take part in the AT&T Winter National Championships in Federal Way, Wash., on Dec. 3-5. They will then host Redlands in another SCIAC meet on Dec. 5.

Men’s Basketball
Offense led the way for the Stags in both of their New York games last week, as they put up a combined 171 points in games against John Jay College (N.Y.) and Hunter College (N.Y.). Michael Scarlett (CMC ’16) led the team in scoring in both games with an 18-point outing against John Jay, and a career-high, 32-point effort against Hunter in which Scarlett went 11 for 18 from the field, including eight three-pointers. The 3-2 Stags have now won three in a row, outscoring opponents 240-172 in the process. Next up, CMS will participate in the David Wells Classic at the Rains Center on Nov. 27-28, taking on Bristol University (Calif.) and Carleton College (Minn).

Women’s Soccer
On Saturday Nov. 22, the Claremont women's club soccer team played CSU San Bernadino for their final league game. The final score was 6-1! Goals came from: Elizabeth Gross, April Carlson (2), Gail Gallaher, Hannah Huston, and Ella Kim. Assists came from: Huston (2), Kim (2), Carlson and Dena Kleemeier.
