============= Fall – Women==============
Women’s Cross Country
The CMS cross country teams had strong performances in the NCAA West Regional over the weekend. The Athenas finished second overall and had seven All-Region runners. Bridget Blum (CMC ’16) led the way once again, taking fifth place, followed by Jen Lehr (SCR ’17) in the ninth spot. The men’s and women’s teams qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on Nov. 21 in Winneconne, Wis., marking the eighth-straight year that CMS is represented at the national championships. Volleyball
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team beat Southwestern (Texas) in the opening round of the NCAA Regionals 3-0, but couldn’t get past No. 1-ranked Washington University (St. Louis). The Athenas fell 3-0 to the Bears but kept the two first sets extremely tight. Nicole Kerkhof (CMC ’17) was the point-scoring leader for CMS this season, as she tallied 375 kills and 16 service aces. The Athenas finished another strong season with a SCIAC Postseason Tournament championship and a 27-6 overall (14-2 SCIAC) record.

Men’s Cross Country
The CMS cross country teams had strong performances in the NCAA West Regional over the weekend. The Stags won the region title for the third time in four years. Zorg Loustalet (HMC ’16) took home third place, with Evan Molineux (CMC ’16) finishing eighth. The men’s and women’s teams qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships on Nov. 21 in Winneconne, Wis., marking the eighth-straight year that CMS is represented at the national championships. Football
For the third season in a row, the Battle for Sixth Street trophy is staying with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team, after CMS came back to defeat Pomona-Pitzer 20-17 on Nov. 14. CMS trailed at the half but Trey Reynolds (CMC ’17) led two touchdown drives to begin the third quarter and connected with Tyler Stanek (CMC ’16) for the eventual game-winning touchdown. A strong season ended with a 7-2 overall, 6-1 SCIAC record. This Stags team will return a number of key starters next season. With six wins in conference, CMS ended the season in second place in conference, their highest finish in SCIAC since 2003 when CMS tied for second. Six conference wins is the most ever for a CMS team and CMS also set the program scoring record today, needing just one point to set the record.
Men’s Water Polo
A hot start led CMS to a 12-7 win over Pomona-Pitzer thanks to multi-goal performances from Tanner Cullen (CMC ’16), Adam Hilborn (CMC ’16), Eric Bakar (CMC ’17) and Alex Waggoner (CMC ’17). The Stags are ranked No. 1 nationally at the Division III level and have yet to lose a SCIAC match. CMS will enter the SCIAC Championships (Nov. 20-22) at La Verne as the top seed. Women’s Basketball
The Athenas kicked off their 2015-16 season at home in thrilling fashion, needing a last- second layup to come out on top over Transylvania (Ken). Mara Falahee (SCR ’16) scored the game-winner and posted nine rebounds, while Kailee Severt (CMC ’18) led the Athenas in points with 14. CMS (1-0) will next travel to New York to participate in the Hunter College Tournament from Nov. 20-21.
Women’s Swim and Dive
The Stags and Athenas had the past week off from competition after sweeping both Chapman and Cal Lutheran in their first SCIAC meet of the year on Nov. 7. The CMS swimming and diving program hosted its annual alumni meet on Saturday, and will next get the chance to race in the AT&T Winter National Championships in Federal Way, Wash., on Dec. 3-4 and at home against Redlands on Dec. 5.

Men’s Basketball
The 2015-16 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team began regular-season play last week, going 1-2 in three road games. The Stags lost twice at the Markie Cosca Memorial Tournament in close games against Simpson (Calif.) and the Cal Maritime Academy. The win came at UC Santa Cruz, where Shelby Lane (CMC ’16) paved the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Another pair of road games await the Stags in New York, where they will play John Jay College and Hunter College on Nov. 20-21, respectively.

Women’s Rugby
The Foxes return to action Nov. 21 with a rookie scrimmage against Cal Poly Pomona.
Men’s Rugby
Men’s Rugby had its Fall Alumni Game Saturday, Nov. 14 prior to the football game vs. Pomona-Pitzer at Parents Field. Claremont will host UCLA on Nov. 21. The spring season begins with training in mid-January for the men’s rugby club.
