========== Spring – Women============
Women’s Tennis
Thanks to their 5-3 victory over Pomona-Pitzer in Round 3 of the NCAA Regionals a week ago, the Athenas qualified for the NCAA Quarterfinals, where their team season ended May 23 with a 5-1 loss to Bowdoin (Maine) in Kalamazoo, Mich. Caroline Ward (CMC ’16) and Katie Kuosman (CMC ’17) now transition into the singles and doubles portion of the NCAA Division III Championships which run from May 26-28, also in Kalamazoo. Women’s Track & Field
The Stags and Athenas participated in the Redlands Final Qualifier last week. Aiyanna Cameron-Lewis (CMC ’18) finished first among all collegiate athletes and second overall in the 400 meters at 58.27, while Vaiva Palunas (SCR ’17) took first place in the shot put (14.09 meters) and discus throw (48.15m). Next up for the CMS track and field program will be the NCAA DIII Championships in Waverly, Iowa, taking place May 26-28. Men’s Tennis
After beating Texas-Tyler 5-4 in a come-from-behind victory on May 14, the Stags advanced to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinals, where their season ended May 23 with a 5-2 loss to the University of Chicago in Kalamazoo Mich. The Stags took two of three doubles matches but were unable to get going in singles as Chicago went on to the win. Three Stags now transition over to compete in the singles and doubles competition of the NCAAs, May 26-28, also in Kalamazoo: Skyler Butts (CMC ’16 - singles/doubles), Glenn Hull (CMC ’17 - singles) and Daniel Morkovine (CMC ’17 - singles alternate/doubles). More information will be posted about the singles and doubles portion of the NCAA Championships on the tournament webpage as soon as it becomes available.
Men’s Track & Field
The Stags and Athenas participated in the Redlands Final Qualifier last week. Cam Van (CMC ’17) earned second place in the high jump (1.95 meters) with Michael Wagenveld (CMC ’18) earning third overall in the pole vault at 4.92m.
