Athletics Week In Review (Extended Version - Word)
=========== Fall – Women=============
Women’s Basketball
The Athena basketball team went 2-0 in the 21st annual
David Wells Classic, beating Augsburg (Minn.) 50-40 and UC Santa
Cruz 52-46. Kyra Ray (KGI) put up 13 points
against Augsburg, including three three-pointers. Kimberly
Scamman (CMC ’15) scored a team-high 18 points in
the UCSC game, draining 12 free throws. CMS, now 3-2, opens its
SCIAC season on the road against La Verne on Dec. 3 and then
returns home to play George Fox (Ore.) at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec.
6.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
The Athena swimming and diving team did not compete last week. The
next competition is against Chapman and Occidental at home on Dec.
6. The diving is slated to start at 10 a.m. and the swimming will
follow.

====================
Men’s Basketball
The Stag basketball team was 2-0 last week in the 21st
annual David Wells Classic, beating Lewis & Clark (Ore.) 55-34
and Grove City (Pa.) 71-55. In the two games, Tyler
Gaffaney (CGU) led in points (43), rebounds (12) and
assists (7). CMS is now 5-1 and next plays West Coast Baptist on
Dec. 13.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
The Stag swimming and diving team did not compete last week. The
next competition is against Chapman and Occidental at home on Dec.
6. The diving is slated to start at 10 a.m. and the swimming will
follow.
