CMS Leads SCIAC with 311 All-Academic Team Selections

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps athletic department led the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a total of 311 All-Academic Team selections for the 2018-19 academic year, the league office announced this morning.

The 311 total for CMS edged out Sixth Street rival Pomona-Pitzer, which totaled 297 SCIAC All-Academic team selections, while Redlands came in third with 225. Chapman (221) and Occidental (197) rounded out the top five. 

The CMS track and field teams led the way with a total of 66 selections, including 36 from the Athenas and 30 from the Stags, while football was close behind with 29 selections. Women's soccer had 23 of its 34 players earn All-Academic team distinction, while volleyball had 11 of 17 and softball had 10 of 16.
