CMS TOP-10 MOMENTS 2015-16 A look back at a memorable 2015-16 school year for the Stags and Athenas of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics.

  • CMS claimed its eighth-straight combined All-Sports trophy this season, accumulating 170 combined points in the 21 sponsored sports.
  • The women’s trophy was awarded to the Athenas for their 92 accumulated points in the 11 women’s sponsored sports. The CMS women scored ten points for claiming championships in the sports of cross country, basketball and outdoor track and field. The Athenas tied for first in women’s volleyball and tennis and took second in soccer, swimming and diving, golf and softball.
  • The Stags won the men's trophy accumulating 80 points by finishing in first place in six of the 10 men’s sponsored sports. The Stags took titles in cross-country, water polo, swimming and diving, golf, tennis and track and field.

Football's comeback against Occidental

On October 24, the Stags came back from a 13-point deficit with 1:23 left to beat Occidental 45-42. Down 13, CMS went on a 50 second, 4-play, 62-yard touchdown capped by a 26-yd touchdown pass from Trey Reynolds to Trey Smith to make it 42-36 . The Stags then took control of an onside kick with 28 seconds, and secured the victory with a 4-play, 53-yard scoring drive with a 4-yd touchdown pass from Reynolds to Smith with five seconds left.

SCIAC win streak for Stags Tennis hits 100...and counting

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team won its first NCAA Division III National Championship and freshman Alex Wrenn (CMC) claimed a tie for second place individually on May 13 at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y.

Volleyball, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's water polo, women's swimming, men's swimming, women's basketball, men's golf, softball, women's tennis, men's tennis, men's track & field and women's track & field each participated in their respective NCAA Championships.
